High performance doors and door outerframes

The Sheerframe door range provides the perfect solution whether residential or commercial.  Our expertise in profile technology has enabled the development of some of the industry’s most advanced doors and door outerframes.

The Sheerframe residential door range can be produced in a wide range of styles and finishes.  Select one of the door product categories below to find out more:

	Composite Doors – including Fire Doors Composite doors are defined as a combination of PVC door outerframe with a door leaf of standard 44mm thickness made out of a range of materials from wood to metal and GRP.
	French Doors Sheerframe French doors can be made either outward opening or inward opening.  Requirements for restricted opening and safety doors can also be accommodated in the designs.
	Patio Doors Sheerframe in-line patio doors come in 2, 3 or 4 panel options, each with ovolo low gasket line co-extruded beading.
	Bi-Fold Doors The Sheerframe Bi-Fold door delivers a contemporary style along with high-performance and reliability.

Doors can be outward or inward opening and come with a variety of thresholds and cill designs.  U values down to 1.6W/m2K can be achieved to meet Part L of the Building Regulations.

Sheerframe residential doors are compatible with other Sheerframe window and curtain walling systems.

Technical information

Thresholds
A full range of low-level thresholds is available which comply with Part M of the Building Regulations.

Composition
Sections extruded from Sheerblend lead-free calcium organic impact modified PVC complying with BS EN 12608.

Appearance
A smooth surface in white or various colours and woodgrains with either an outward or inward opening facility.  Doors can be either glazed with safety glass or thermally insulated panels.  Low threshold options are also available, including wheelchair thresholds.

Size
Doors are manufactured to customer specification. Maximum recommended size for individual doors is 1000mmW x 2300mmH.  All queries regarding size, range, design and function contact L.B. Plastics' Specifier Support Department.

Fittings and Hardware
A wide range of door locking mechanisms is available including dead bolts, locking tongues/bolts, anti jamming devices. Where doors are hinged externally, these must be protected by anti-lifting pins.

Reinforcing
Reinforcing is to be applied in accordance with the relevant Sheerframe manufacturing manual.

Maintenance
The mechanism should be kept free of debris and sprayed with a lubricant/protective coating at six-monthly intervals.  Should adjustment be required, refer to separate 'maintenance and adjustment' card.

Security and Weathertightness
Sheerframe 7000 has full accreditation to the door performance standard PAS 023 and the security standard PAS 024.

Weatherseals and Gaskets
Both Sheerframe 6000 and 7000 come with fully co-extruded weatherseals and gaskets which are welded at the corners to give exceptional weathertightness.
